Beginning From the End

After three months spent completing one semester abroad in hot, tropical Cambodia (this part of the journey was tracked at www.goshen.edu/sst/cambodia/), 11 of the 24 students involved remained in Asia. Since then, seven more have returned to the States. For these students, most attempting to re-integrate themselves into the life of an American Goshen College student, the adventures have only begun.

Keep up with them in their new location, Goshen, Indiana, where instead of sunshine, there are clouds, and instead of blue skies, the entire expanse looks greyish most of the time. Not everyone could put up with these despondent conditions, but these 15 dear souls have survived Cambodia, and with that under their kramas, they are ready to bravely begin their journey through the previously known.

Will they adjust to the drastically different climate? Will they be able to focus on their studies? Will they find enough rice to satisfy their cravings? Who will they anger by speaking only in Khmer? Might they attempt to flag down a moto? The answers to these important questions and more may or may not be revealed in the coming blogs featuring the returnees.
